Names of God: Jehovah-Yasha , Jehovah-Ez-Lami , Jehovah-Immeku
Jehovah-Yasha-Lord my Savior
Psalm 18:2 (KJV) “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”
The Lord is our Savior, and He is our rock and fortress. He keeps us safe. What an amazing God! Not only is He the Savior of our soul, but He longs to keep us safe physically as well. David was using this psalm to describe his relationship with the Lord. All of these descriptors of God is what made David a man after God’s own heart. He leaned on God for everything even when he made mistakes. We, too, can have this relationship with God and rely on Him for everything. David had to run and flee from Saul, and many times he would hide in rocks and caves and high places. He used this experience and his army experience to convey how God saved him and that He was his Savior.
Jehovah-Ez-Lami- Lord is my Strength
Psalm 28:7 (KJV) “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”
God wants to be our shield and for us to trust Him in everything. When we put all of our trust in Him, we are helped, and we can rejoice no matter what life might throw at us. We can live a life of worship when we lean and depend on God for strength. We see here again a psalm of David. He is giving a testimony of how God was his strength and how God walked with him. Just like David, God is there to walk with us and be our strength through difficult times.
Jehovah-Immeku- Lord is with you
Judges 6:12 (MSG) “The angel of God appeared to him and said, “God is with you, O mighty warrior!”
This verse is found in Judges when Gideon was called to rise and fight. He was so fearful and really was the least of these in his time. God wanted Gideon to fight against the Amorites and Gideon walked in fear vs faith. We also walk in fear vs faith so many times because we forget that God is with us always. He calls us mighty and stands with us ready to fight along side of us.
