I am hoping that the title of my article today puts a hook in your jaw and causes you to be curious enough to read the whole thing. You may be at work, at home, taking a break, but no matter where you are, let’s find out what God says about, “Where you are.”
The Bible says that we are “seated together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” right now. We are in Jesus at the right hand of our Father. If you have received Jesus as your Savior, that is your position. I wonder how many of us ever really think about what that means. Let’s go back to before the beginning of everything. The Bible says that we, as the Bride of Christ, were chosen in Christ Jesus before the foundations of the world. (Ephesians 1:4, Ephesians 1:11, Romans 8:29) How in the world is this possible? Well, He gave us a beautiful picture of this when He created Eve using Adam‘s own body to do it. We, as the Bride for Jesus, were “in Jesus“ just as Eve was “in Adam.“ Because God knows everything from beginning to end, He knew that He would be creating Eve using Adam’s own body. As we think about this, I want us to understand why our Heavenly Father went to such great lengths to get us back from the enemy. Satan lied and perpetuated such deception into the minds of God’s people when he deceived Eve and she doubted God’s word.
Our Heavenly Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit form the three-in-one of the Godhead. So, as we were chosen in Jesus before the foundations of the world, we were part of Christ’s own body. Lucifer, the enemy, or Satan, it doesn’t matter what you call him, was the anointed cherub who stood behind the throne of God. He heard every plan that God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit made concerning the creation of mankind. His hatred for all of us came out of the jealousy that rose up inside of him because we were created in the image of the living God and he was not. In fact, he and all of the hosts of heaven were to be ministering spirits to those of us who are heirs of salvation. Remember, Jesus was the lamb slain from the foundations of the world. This entire plan of God was complete and He knew everything ahead of time. God has no surprises. He just simply knows the end from the beginning.
As we understand fully that we are a part of Jesus’ own Body, that we have been given the privilege of being seated together, in Him, at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, that He, Jesus Himself, lives inside of us, let us truly embrace the position of “who we are.“ Jesus, by His death, burial, and resurrection gave us back everything that Adam had given away. And that is the dominion over everything that we were to walk in and administrate. As we decide to believe God and His word, our position of “who we are” in Him becomes more important than anything else. Believe Him today, believe His Word today, and be completely assured of “who you are” in Him. Let us not waste another second being deceived, but let us be completely renewed in the Spirit of our minds and know “who we are” and “where we are“ seated. The fulfillment of God‘s plan depends on this. Let us submit fully to His perfect way and exalt His name together through our choices and actions.
